Sea Wolf Plays Intimate Show @ The Federal | NOHO Arts District

[By Franceasca Seiden]

“Sea Wolf’s energy captured the audience’s attention with soulful lyrics and melodies penetrating through the most hardest of hearts.”

Sea Wolf released their third studio album entitled Old Romance on September 12, 2012 and rocked a free intimate gathering at The Federal in the NoHo arts district. This was a special treat for Sea Wolf fans, music enthusiasts and brunch lovers all, to bask in the glory that is LA. Torches, an LA based band with haunting melodies and moody lyrics opened for Sea Wolf. I was already on my second Mimosa before I realized that I was caught in standing room only and there was no way I was going to enjoy my eggs until the show was over. The band took the stage around 12pm to a noisy yet excited crowd of 250. A little back and forth tuning and sound check before playing an acoustic set was definitely needed to see the band’s personality. Adam Church, Sea Wolf’s lead vocalist and founder quickly captured the audience’s attention as the once noisy crowd was washed over with a musical calmness that their sound’s tend to lean to. If The Boxer Rebellion and The Shins had a baby it could be Sea Wolf’s long lost cousin.

The performance was designed for a mellow, sunny Sunday afternoon, in an atmosphere reminiscent of the east coast with loft like windows shining light into the two story red brick building. Sea Wolf’s energy captured the audience’s attention with soulful lyrics and melodies penetrating through the most hardest of hearts. Songs like Miracle Cure, Priscilla, and Old Romance were some of the new tracks performed off of Old Romance. Check them out on iTunes or visit Sea Wolf’s website for more information on concert dates and merchandise.
